⚡ Electrical Engineering Intern (6-12 months)

About the role

Join our electrical systems team to build robust motor-control, power-distribution, and communications hardware for multi-actuator humanoid robots. You will work from schematic and layout through board bring-up and system validation, with direct exposure to the thermal, EMI, and reliability constraints of real robotic platforms.

Requirements

• 01Pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 02Project experience with PCB design, bring-up, and debugging
• 03Strong EE fundamentals
• 04Experience with power electronics (motor driver, switch mode power supplies…), digital electronics (MCU, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C…), and analog electronics (filters, ADC/DAC…)
• 05Familiarity with high-speed design and layout
• 06Hands-on experience with electronics lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers
• 07PCB design experience in KiCad or Altium, including schematic capture, multi-layer layout, and component libraries
• 08(+) Experience with Flex PCB Design
• 09(+) Experience using LTspice, Python, and Matlab
• 10(+) Basic understanding of mechanical design fundamentals

Details & responsibilities

• 01Design and test full or sub sections of PCBAs on the system, such as power distribution boards, battery management systems, sensing boards, motor controllers, and compute boards
• 02Integrate and test tactile, IMU, encoder, and force/torque sensor modalities for closed-loop robotic control
• 03Help optimize PCB layouts for thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and signal-integrity requirements
• 04Support system integration and test activities by contributing to test execution and problem diagnostics and resolution
• 05Work closely with mechanical and software teams to validate electrical designs in real robotic systems
• 06A Proception employee will reach out directly to schedule additional interviews.
• 07A portfolio is recommended where relevant.
• 08Interview process: two technical interviews and one CEO interview.
